Try this Dahi Chicken Handi Recipe by Samina Jalil , Chicken cooked with yogurt and spices in a clay pot. The chicken is incredibly tender and injected with flavour from a yogurt curry. Goes great with rice or naan.

Ingredients
  • Chicken Marination:
  • 600 gm Chicken
  • 1 tbsp Ginger garlic paste
  • 1 cup Yogurt
  • 1 tsp Cumin powder
  • ¾ tsp All spice powder
  • Salt to taste
  • red chili powder to taste
  • Turmeric as required
For Masala Ingredients:
  • ¾ cup Clarified butter
  • 1 large onion finely chopped
  • 2-3 green chilies finely chopped
  • 1 tbsp chopped ginger
  • 1 tsp White cumin
For Garnishing:
  • ginger slices
  • green coriander chopped
Cooking Method
  1. In a bowl, marinate chicken with ginger garlic paste, yogurt, cumin powder, all spice powder, salt, red chili, and turmeric.
  2. Leave for 2 to 3 hours to blend flavors.
To Make The Curry:
  1. Melt clarified butter in a clay pot and fry chopped onion, chopped green chili, chopped ginger and white cumin.
  2. Now add marinated chicken mix and cook well.
  3. Add half cup of water and put the lid on; cook on low flame for 25 minutes or until chicken is tender.
  4. Turn the flame on high and cook until oil comes on top.
  5. Garnish with ginger and green coriander.
  6. Delicious Dahi Chicken Handi is ready to serve.
Serving Suggestions

Serve hot with Naan and chapati.
