Ingredients
For The Dough:
  • 2 cups Flour
  • Salt To taste
  • 1-1/2 tsp Baking powder
  • Water As needed
For The Filling:
  • 1 cup Chicken mince boiled
  • 1/2 cup Green peas boiled
  • 1/2 cup Onions chopped
  • 1 tbsp Garlic chopped
  • 1/2 tbsp Ginger chopped
  • 1/2 tbsp Soy sauce
  • Salt To taste
  • 1 Red chili or green chili chopped
  • 1/4 tbsp Black pepper crushed
  • Oil As required
Cooking Method
Preparing the Dough:
  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, salt, and baking powder.
  2. Gradually add water and knead to form a stiff dough.
  3. Cover the dough with a damp cloth and let it rest for 20 minutes.
Making the Chicken Filling:
  1. Heat oil in a pan. Add the chopped chili, onions, ginger, and garlic.
  2. Sauté for 4-5 minutes until the onions are translucent.
  3. Add the boiled chicken mince and boiled peas.
  4. Remove from heat and mix in the soy sauce, salt, and black pepper.
Shaping the Momos:
  1. Divide the dough into small, equal portions.
  2. Roll each portion into a thin, circular shape.
  3. Place a spoonful of filling in the center of each dough disk.
  4. Wet the edges of the dough and bring them together to seal, pleating or twisting carefully.
  5. Repeat until all the dough and filling are used.
Steaming the Momos:
  1. Fill a steamer with water and bring it to a boil.
  2. Arrange the momos on the steamer tray, ensuring they don't overcrowd.
  3. Steam for 15-20 minutes, or until cooked through.
  4. Serve hot and enjoy!
