This Afghani Aalu Gosht Recipe by Shireen Anwar, is made with mutton and potatoes infused with big flavor from whole spices, onions and yogurt. Goes great with rice or roti. A must try recipe!

Ingredients
- 500 gm Mutton
- 250 gm Potatoes
- ½ cup Oil
- 1 tsp Black pepper
- 1-½ tsp Coriander powder
- 1-½ tsp Salt
- 1 large Onion sliced
- 1 cup Yogurt
- 2 tbsp Ginger garlic grinded
- 1 tbsp Ginger julienne
- 6-8 Green chilies
- 2 tbsp Fresh coriander
Cooking Method

Heat oil in a wok over medium heat.

Saute onion in it until light golden.

Remove from the oil.

In the same oil, add ginger garlic paste with mutton, fry well for 10 minutes or until meat is no longer pink.

Add black pepper, coriander, yogurt, salt and green chilies with ½ cup water.

Cover the pot and cook meat until mutton is half done.

Now add coarsely grounded brown onion with small cubes of potatoes.

Add 1-½ cup water, cover and cook on medium flame for 20 minutes or until potatoes and onion tender.

Put it on dum for 10 minutes or until oil comes on top.

Take it out in a serving bowl.

Garnish with chopped coriander, green chilies, ginger julienne.

Afghani Aalu Gosht is ready to serve.

Serve with boiled rice or roti.
