Ingredients
  • 1 kg white fish red snapper fillet
  • Oil for deep frying
Batter Ingredients:
  • 1 cup plain flour maida
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/4 tsp baking powder
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 tsp carom seeds
  • 1/2 tsp red chili
  • 1- 2 green chilies finely chopped
Marination Ingredients:
  • 1 tsp turmeric powder
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 tsp dry roasted cumin
  • 1 tsp ginger paste
  • 1 tsp garlic paste
  • 2-3 lemon Juice
Masala Chips Ingredients:
  • 4-5 large potatoes cut in to thick chips
  • 2 tbsp rice flour
  • Chaat masala
  • Khaatai
  • Salt to taste
  • Vinegar
  • Oil to deep frying
Cooking Method
To Make the Batter:
  1. To make batter whisk together the flour, milk, water, baking powder, and salt in a bowl until smooth
To Marinate the Fish:
  1. Marinate fish with above mentioned marination ingredients and leave for 10-15 minutes.
To Make the Masala Chips:
  1. Boil water and add 1/2 tsp salt in a saucepan.
  2. Boil cut potatoes for 4-6 minutes until half cooked.
  3. Then drain.
  4. Heat oil on medium heat.
  5. Coat potatoes in rice flour, and fry for a few minutes until golden brown.
  6. Sprinkle khaatai, chaat masala, salt and vinegar over it.
To Fry Fish:
  1. Heat oil in a deep wok or pan over medium heat.
  2. Deep fry fish in wok on medium heat – once hot.
  3. Now dip fish in batter and fry for a few minutes until crispy and fluffy.
  4. Drain with slotted spoon and place on kitchen paper to soak of excess oil.
  5. Serve immediately with Chips.
